Thon Hotel Astoria is a cosy budget-hotel in downtown Oslo. It is located only 50 metres from the main street Karl Johan, in close proximity to everything the city has to offer. Shopping, galleries, museums, restaurants and nightlife are just minutes away. The hotel is easily accessible with public transportation, and is only a short 5 minute walk from Oslo Central Station. The Astoria has 180 comfortable guest rooms, most of them facing towards the back. Due to the very central location you may experience some city noise as traffic and music from bars. 50 of the rooms are brand new, and were opened January 7th 2008. All are equipped with hairdryer, telephone and television, and all have private bathrooms with showers. The hotel does not offer minibars or pay-tv, but refreshments and snacks can be purchased from the vending machines in the lobby. There are 6 free tv-channels, also international. In addition to the standard rooms, the hotel offers a few smoking rooms, rooms without carpet, and family rooms. Wireless Internet is available in the entire hotel, also in the breakfastroom. A free guest computer is available in the lobby.
